We overstuff the truck with around 2,000 pounds of pottery -- and two healthy dogs -- about 25 times a year and drive across the country to our favorite Arts & Crafts festivals. Most of our summer shows are in Montana, but we also travel to shows in Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, New York, California, Arizona, Utah & Oregon.

Big Sur
© John Ashley Birdwatching along the California coast, near Big Sur. Sightings included 15 California Condors!

(John would like to take this opportunity to recommend against towing a trailer along Hwy. 1, which winds through the hills behind Tracy...)
(On a skinny road, far from Montana...)
John gets befuddled in Ballyvaughan. Driving in Ireland -- on the right side of the car and the left side of the road -- seems easy at first, until you meet a tour bus coming towards you!

A hummingbird in December?
We're not in Montana anymore, Toto!
(Must be Arizona, near Tucson.)

Niagra Falls
© John Ashley No kayaks allowed -- Niagra Falls is along the scenic route on our way back home to Montana!
We couldn't resist the chance to digitally edit this sign for the "Middle Fork Crazy Woman" River in the middle of nowhere, Wyoming. Crazy woman

Nevada show
© John Ashley Our booth gets stacked to the rafters when we can set up the day before a show starts (this one is in NV), instead of the morning of the show.
What customers don't normally see -- during a windy hailstorm, we drop the tent walls and hang on to the tent frame for dear life! Hang ten!

Bristlecone Pine
© John Ashley Tracy is but an infant next to this ancient Bristlecone Pine in southern California.
Artists are one big family. As often as possible, we try to schedule shows and travel with our good friends Brian & Laura Obert (Windmill Designs). Laura creates beautiful paintings on feathers, and Brian builds the elegant frames for Laura's paintings. Brian & Laura Obert

Featured Artist!
© John Ashley Laura was the "Featured Artist" for the Christmas 2004 show in Tucson! One of her painted feathers was featured on all of the show posters and t-shirts (modeled here by two of her fans).
Customers race to our booth in Issaquah, WA, near Seattle.
(Or perhaps it's a road race down Main Street...)
Eager customers?

Missouri River
© John Ashley We float the Missouri River with a group of friends almost every summer. We put in one day after a show, float for three days, and take out one day before our next show.
Our favorite show in Nevada has been going on for more than 80 years! NV customers
