| Frequently Asked Questions |
|
Do you guarantee your products? |
|
Yes, we offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, PLUS we guarantee all items against breakage during normal use.
If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, return it within 30 days for an immediate refund (or exchange, if in stock).
In addition, we will gladly replace/refund any item that breaks during normal usage -- they're that tough!
Over the past eight years, we have had to replace just three Baking Stones (factory-made stones crack much more often!) and two Clock mechanisms that "retired."
We have not needed to replace/refund any Tile purchases.
Tiles & Stones are oven, microwave, freezer, dishwasher, & food safe. However, they are not intended for use on any stovetop or on open flame (eg - barbeque pits). As with anything ceramic, our products will sometimes break if dropped, but this is not considered normal usage. ( Contact us if you have additional questions about our guarantees.) |

What if I don't want to give my credit card over the Internet? |
| That's fine. Simply continue through the ordering process until asked you to choose a payment option, then select "phone," and we will still receive your order electronically. This way, you can call us with your credit card number, and we will be ready to ship your order as soon as we receive payment. ( Contact us if you have additional questions about ordering.) |

Do you make custom Tiles / Stones / Clocks? |
| We are currently unable to consider custom orders. We have made them in the past, but we are presently without a pottery studio to create in! |
|
Can I hang or display my Tile / Stone / Clock? |
| Yes! Lots of people tell us that they love our work strictly as pieces of art. We carve a small nail hole in the back of every Tile so they can be hung on any wall. For the Stones, we use spring-loaded plate hangers (available on our Baking Stone pages) for hanging Stones on walls. We also use wooden easels to display both Tiles and Stones. All Clocks come with a hanger, and they also look nice displayed on an easel. |
|
Do your Baking Stones lighten / darken? |
|
The design on the front side does not get lighter or darker over time.
We decorate each Stone by hand and then fire them to 2200 degrees in our kiln, so the design is permanently baked into the clay.
The back side is the baking surface. It will darken ("season") over time -- seasoning is both natural and desirable. You can cook on the front side, but this will darken the areas around the design. By cooking only on the back side, you can use your Stone as a decoration, front-side-up, when not baking. You can also use the decorated side when using the Stone like a large Food Tile. Just heat or freeze the Stone and place pans / bowls of food on top. This works great for potluck parties or large dinners! (Contact us if you have additional questions about our Baking Stones.) |
